How to Start a Travel Clinic

Are you interested in starting a pharmacy based Travel Clinic? Our resources and lectures have been created for the uninitiated. Make sure you come on the first day to ensure you get involved in our group sessions.

All the materials shown on the day will be available inside a specialist elearning companion course published onto the hubnet.io which consists of 4 hours of documented CPD which can be stored in our newly created GPhC compatible training log.

Honorary Chair of conference: Group Captain Green (Immediate Past Dean,  Faculty of Travel Medicine, Royal College of Physician and Surgeon of Glasgow)

Gp Capt Andy Green is the Armed Forces Director of Infection Prevention and Control and is responsible for IPC in all military health care facilities. During 2014-2015 he has been involved in all aspects of the UK National Response to Ebola. He was appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Travel Medicine in October 2015. More...

Honorary Vice Chair of conference: David Ross (Chair of Education Board, Faculty of Travel Medicine, Royal College of Physician and Surgeon of Glasgow)

David Ross graduated in medicine from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1986. In 2012 he was appointed the Parkes Professor of Preventive Medicine and in 2014 an Honorary Queen’s Physician. He has been associated with MASTA, a travel medicine provider, circa 2005 and from 2012 has been their Consultant Medical Advisor. More...

Alex is a fellow of Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH), the Head of Travel Medicine and Allergy services at five GP surgeries and pharmacies. He is also a Specialist Pharmacist Independent Prescriber and one of the first pharmacists to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in the UK. More...

Doctor Tommy Tang - President, Hong Kong Society of Travel Medicine

Dr Tommy Tang graduated in the University of Hong Kong in 2004. Currently, he is working as an associated consultant of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. He has various peer-review publications including the Emerging Infectious Diseases, the Clinical Infectious Diseases, and the New England Journal of Medicine. More...

Conference Co-Chair: Derek Evans FRPharmS Independent Prescriber

Derek is an Independent Prescribing Pharmacist with over 20 years experience in travel health. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, has a Diploma in Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow) and is currently an executive member of the British Global Travel Health Association and Vice Chairman of the pharmacist group of the International Society of Travel medicine. Occupational Health Manager at Shell International Ltd

Cheryl graduated as a nurse from Mid Herts School of nursing in 1985 and the work for Hertfordshire Country Council until she took a position as Southern Lead Nurse and UK Trainer for Superdrug in 2007. Cheryl now works an Occupational Health Manager at Shell International.

Conference Co-Chair: Wojtek (Mike) Bereza MRPharm Independent Prescriber

Mike started the first autonomous Community Pharmacy Travel Clinic in 2007 and now works in his London based Douglas Pharmacy. Having over a decade of experience running a successful travel clinic he created the hubnet.io which is a network of digitally enabled healthcare professionals working to pioneer new pharmacy services.

Saam Ali MPharmS - The Pharmacy Mentor

Saam graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2006 and went to cut his teeth working at Boots Sheffield for a number of years. After learning Digital Strategist skills working at Green Cross Chemist he moved on to form Pharmacy Mentor which offer digital services and training packages to community pharmacy.

Zalmia Khan

Senior Programmer at PharmaFocus.  Zalmia is a veteran coder with a decade of experience specialising in pharmacy and telehealth service enablement. Having worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from media amalgamation sites to MRI imaging software he founded PharmaFocus in 2016. He is an avid cricket player and a mean paceman.
